Canoeing
Canoes can be hired for the more sporting entertainment. It’s possible to rent a canoe for 1 hour,
a half day or the whole day.

But you can also choose for one of more of our Canoe tours.
We offer 2- and 3 persons kayaks and 4 persons canoes for rent.

Munkfors – Ransäter (ca. 12 km on the river Klarälven)
Munkfors – Edeby (ca. 26 km on the river Klarälven)
Ransäter – Edeby (ca. 14 km on the river Klarälven)
Tur på Ransjön (ca. 13 km on the lake Ransjön)

Raft Trip
A relaxing day on the river Klarälven:
We bring you by car to Munkfors, then you will go on the raft and go slowly down the river towards the campsite. Along the way you have enough time to fish, relax or maybe a picnic. The trip shall take about 5 till 6 hours.

Max. 5 persons per raft.

Spend 2 days on a raft on the river Klarälven:
We bring you by car to Munkfors, then you will go on the raft and go slowly down the river towards the campsite. Along the way you have enough time to fish, relax or maybe a picnic.

When you arrive to the campsite you will spend the night in a Cabin (or your own tent or caravan). The next day you leave course to Olsäter.

The trip will take about 4 till 6 hours per day, max. 5 persons per raft.

Beaver Safari
Several nights a week is there the possibility to go on a beaver safari. On a raft we go down the river search for beavers, tracks and beaver huts. During the trip we will take break, make a campfire and is there time for something to eat and drink. Then back on the raft with our binoculars and if we are really quiet then we can watch them from closeby.

Walking
The beautiful surrounding is very suitable for a walk. The tourist office wrote down several routes, you can get a map with these routes at the reception.

Fishing
It’s allowed to fish in the “Klarälven”, you can find species like perch, pike, grayling and trout. However, before you do, you need to buy a fishing license, which we sell at the reception. It’s possible to fish from the bridge, but it’s also possible to rent one of our row boats. You can buy fishing equipment in Munkfors (9 km from the campsite).

Cycling
A cycle track is situated between Karlstad and Hagfors. It’s been built on an old railway track, which means 90 km of car free asphalt, so you don’t need to be an experienced cyclist to enjoy this beautiful nature. This cycling track “Klarälvsbanan” lies directly near the campsite, on the other side of the river. You can rent a bicycle at the reception.

Horseback Riding
At "Kalvbergsåsens" you get a positive experience with Icelandic Horses. Young or old, horse lover or not, Helen Berg gives lessons, day trips etc. in the surrounding of Munkfors (approx. 9 km from the campsite).

Treasure hunting with a GPS unit
Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment.

Farmers Golf
Come check out Storängens Campings Golf Course (farmers golf). It is played with a special wooden golf club, with a club head in the shape of a wooden shoe. A farmers golf ball is, with its 20 centimeter diameter, much larger than a traditional golf ball. A bucket in the ground and a flagpole beside it makes the hole.

Moose Safari
Have you ever seen a moose? Maybe you’ll see one during the summer under a moose safari. This is possible under supervision of a professional guide. He is gonna show you the most beautiful places in the forest and tell alot about the flora and fauna.

Troll hike
For families with kids it’s possible to make a troll hike, when the sun goes down it’s time for the trolls and elfs to come out. The guide is gonna tell wellknown stories about the area.

Huskyhiking
In ”Sunnemo”, a village in the neighbourhood, it’s possible to visit the Husky farm where they can tell you all about this special dog race and where you even can take a walk with Huskies.
